How to Turn Your Ideas Into Action

Set up a new discipline when the idea strikes you—when it is hot and the emotion is strong.
Jim Rohn

Being genuinely disciplined requires that you develop the ability to take action. You don’t need to be too hasty, but you also don’t want to lose much time. The time to act is when the idea strikes us—when it is hot and the emotion is strong, before the feeling passes and the idea dims. If you don’t, you’ll fall prey to the law of diminishing intent. A month from now, the passion will be cold—a year from now, it won’t be found.

So take action!
Set up discipline when the excitement is high and your idea is clear and powerful. You’ve got to take action, otherwise the wisdom is wasted. The enthusiasm will soon pass, unless you apply it to a disciplined activity. Discipline enables you to capture the emotion and wisdom and translate that into action. The greatest value of discipline is self-worth, also known as self-esteem. Because once we sense a lack of discipline within ourselves, it starts to erode our psyche.
One of the greatest temptations is to ease up just a little bit. Instead of doing your best, you allow yourself to do just a little less than your best. Sure enough, you’ve started, in the slightest way, to decrease your sense of self-worth.There is a problem with even a little bit of neglect. Neglect starts as an infection. If you don’t take care of it, it becomes a disease—and one neglect will lead to another. Once this has happened, how can you regain your self-respect?
Act now!
Start with the smallest discipline. Make the commitment: I will discipline myself to achieve my goals so that in the years ahead I can celebrate my successes.

7 Reasons Training Your Mental Strength Is Essential For Your Success

By Ana Erkic

When we look at successful people, we tend to ask ourselves how they’ve accomplished it and what their secret for success is. We might think it’s because of their talents, abilities, and knowledge, but there is something much more important: mental strength. Mental strength gives you power to work hard and always move forward because you know how to deal with difficult situations and overcome them. We all possess mental strength, just to different degrees. If you train yourself to be more mentally tough you will be able to reach your goals and become successful.

1. Mental strength can help you filter out unhelpful comments and advice.

Caring what other people think and their opinions and advice can have a great influence on our actions, causing us lose our own identity trying to please others. If you are mentally strong you will be able to focus completely on your goal and stick to your values without paying attention to negative and unhelpful comments.

2. Mental strength can help you bounce back from failure.

It’s inevitable to face failures in our lives, but how we deal with them shows how mentally strong we are. Whereas some people would just give up after facing a failure, people who are mentally strong see it as a valuable lesson on the road to success and quickly bounce back.

3. Mental strength can help you regulate emotions.

On every journey to success we experience many emotions and if we don’t learn how to regulate them they will influence our decisions and lead us towards the wrong path. By building mental strength you can control your emotions and not let them take over your decisions.
4. Mental strength can provide courage for you to face your fears.

We don’t like to find ourselves in unfamiliar situations that are out of our comfort zone, but being mentally strong enables you to be confident enough to endure the discomfort and face your fears. Only by constantly challenging yourself and facing your fears will you be able to make progress towards success.

5. Mental strength can keep your self-worth high.

Whatever goal you are trying to reach, at some point during the journey you will likely start to question yourself and start doubting whether you are good enough or capable enough to achieve something. Mentally strong people know how much they are worth, and when they come across such situations, they are confident enough to tune out the voice of doubt and keep going with high self-esteem.

6. Mental strength can keep you motivated.

When you are motivated everything goes more smoothly, but what happens when you hit a bump and your motivation goes down? What do you do when you lose sight of the reason that you are doing something and want to drop everything? That’s when mental strength serves you well. It helps you to push on, even when you think you have no strength to do so. It helps you find that strength within yourself and makes you remember what your goal is.

7. Mental strength can help you learn from your mistakes.

When we make a mistake, many of us try to find an excuse to justify our actions to escape the feeling of guilt, and it is wrong to do this. If we justify our mistakes to lessen our guilt, it sets us on the path of repeating them. Mental strength gives you the ability to acknowledge that you are responsible for your mistakes. Admitting to yourself that you were wrong will help you avoid making the same mistake in the future, which is a valuable lesson that will help you grow.

7 Daily Habits of Exceptionally Successful People

Success breeds success. Take these tips to improve your life.
Gavin Sequeira

When you see people who are capable of accomplishing extraordinary things, you can’t help but wonder, What is it that makes them so different?
Numerous studies show recurring characteristics congruent with high achievers. Exceptionally successful people…

1. Plan each day with purpose and action.

Sunday night gets a bad rep because it means having to face another week, back on the treadmill, spinning the wheel once again. Successful people plan their days (yes, even Sundays) different, better, more exciting, more purposeful, more meaningful. Tony Robbins says action without a higher degree of purpose is a waste of time. How much of your life are you designing?

2. Step outside their comfort zone.

Successful people thrive when they are stretched beyond what they think they can handle. They consistently push the boundaries of what’s possible and don’t accept settling. This means stepping outside our comfort zone and questioning the world around us, looking for opportunities to constantly improve. How long have you been in your comfort zone?

3. Surround themselves with smart people.

Some of the world’s trailblazing entrepreneurs, such as Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Richard Branson and Mark Zuckerberg, had a solid team around them from the beginning—they knew their team was crucial to their success. Collaboration allows you to refine your thinking and challenge yourself and be challenged. We become the average of the five closest people we surround ourselves with. Who are you spending your time with?

4. Focus on the big picture.

Focusing on details allows you to track results and make improvements based on facts, not guesswork. But sometimes, we get lost in the doing and forget the building and creating. If you are not designing and creating a better life for yourself, who will? Never lose sight of the big picture and always work on your why.

5. Get the job done.

It’s human behavior to procrastinate. High achievers have developed laserlike focus when it comes to getting things done. At times they can be obsessed and selfish, often making sacrifices most of us would not be prepared or willing to make. Prioritize better; set aside time to focus on your goals list, not your to-do list.

6. Refuse to take no for an answer.

When you’ve hit a wall, it’s easy to consider that the end of the road and tend to give up. Only the most stubborn among us will persevere long enough to climb the rest of the mountain. Think of the Wright brothers trying to get people in the air. Can you imagine what their peers said? Today we can’t imagine a world without planes. What’s your dream?

7. Never stop learning.

One of our great capacities is the ability (and urge) to learn. Unfortunately, most of us stop actively learning once our formal education stops. We allow ourselves to remain stagnant in our careers and personal lives. One of my mentors, Dale Beaumont, once said, “If you are not green and growing, you are ripe and rotting.” How much of your week do you dedicate to learning?
Success breeds success. Take these tips to improve your life. Challenge yourself on a daily basis. Never give up. Surround yourself with great people who will encourage you to move forward.
